Reevaluation of the Pulmonary Lesion in the Right Cardio - phrenic Region ( RCPL )
Lee Chan-Sae

Abstract
The right side cardio-phrenic lesion (RCPL) has been treated rather too lgihtly in general to compare with the lesions in the apex or in the upper lung field. The author reported already in 1973 that there were many . cases among those neglected cases of RCPL showing 20% of positive sputum out of 50 cases examined.
The author made further studies on another 48 cases of the RCPL during last 3 years from 1973-1 to 1976-8 for reclarification of the fact. It was found that the rate of positive sputums was 37.5%, much higher than the previous one.
The relative incidence rates of the transient pneumonias, the bronchitis with or without bronchiectasis, the paragonimiasis were similar with the previous ones. However some mycoplasmal pneumonias were diagnosed among the transient pneumonias although the sputms of only 10 cases of them were examined for it.
Since this country has still a very high prevalence rate of pulmonary tuberculosis and the high yield of positive sputum according to this study, the author recommend to pay more attention for the lesion in the right cardio-phrenic region by doing the sputum examination for tuberculosis and to make a second` chest x-ray to rule out the transient pneumonic shadows;
